Ropes Courses, Inc. offers 2 installation options for customers in order for both parties to be in compliance with the following: American Steel Construction Manual, American Welding Society D11 Weld Codes, American Society of Civil Engineers 7 Minimum Design Loads, and the International Building Codes for General Construction.
The first option is a Ropes Courses, Inc. installation team that can fully execute all points of installation and equipment procurement on-site. The second option is to hire a Ropes Courses, Inc. installation team leader to guide the customer’s crew through the installation process from start to finish, and the customer provides their own equipment. In either case, all structures must pass the initial inspection review by Ropes Courses, Inc. Engineering.
Training is a crucial step in ensuring that the attraction is run in a safe and responsible manner. Ropes Courses, Inc. requires operator training for your staff, which can be held at Ropes Courses, Inc. or at your attraction location. These trainings must be conducted by a certified Operator Trainer. Operator training is 2-4 days in length depending on course specifications and exact dates and times are coordinated through the training manager. After successful completion of operator training your staff are able to operate the ropes course for participants. Annual re-certification is required to keep operators up to date on new policies and procedures. Operators who have the necessary qualifications can become Operator Trainers for your site. To become an Operator Trainer additional training and testing is required and must be conducted by an Ropes Courses, Inc. Instructor. This can take place at your location or at Ropes Courses, Inc. Trainings are held regularly throughout the year and are available upon request.
The Ropes Courses, Inc. training manager also offers customer support and additional training at any time. Additional training services including tutorials and videos are available in the client login section of our website.
An annual inspection of the ropes courses is necessary to be able to verify that the Ropes Courses, Inc. product meets the standards set by the government and the manufacturer. Annual inspections also are required to comply with the standards set by ASTM for amusement devices. Scheduling of the annual inspection is the responsibility of the owner and must be done through Ropes Courses, Inc. If the course is not re-certified annually, the course owner assumes all liability for the structure and safety. The annual inspection is performed by a Ropes Courses, Inc. certified inspector who has been trained to conduct the annual inspection. The inspector uses course prints to thoroughly check the structure and the elements of the course, as well as inspecting all safety gear. An engineer at Ropes Courses, Inc. reviews the inspection documents and determines if the course can officially be certified based on his or her findings. A certification sticker is issued if the course passes and a detailed inspection report is delivered to the site.
Sites may choose to have their own certified inspectors. A representative can either go to Ropes Courses, Inc. headquarters or have an Ropes Courses, Inc. instructor go to their site. The certified instructor goes over all of the necessary steps of an annual inspection from paperwork to testing of bolts. After successful completion of written and practical tests, the inspector can perform the annual inspection for their specific ropes course for three years before their certificate will need to be renewed. Course prints must still be purchased from Ropes Courses, Inc. to conduct the annual inspection.
A certified Ropes Courses, Inc. operator and/or trained maintenance staff must also complete a daily inspection of each Ropes Courses, Inc. product and safety equipment every day before participants are allowed on the course. The daily inspection involves a visual inspection of the course structure and tactile inspection of all the safety equipment. An official daily checklist is given to each new course as part of their operator’s training and is required to be filled out each day the course is operational.
