Ropes Courses, Inc. was built on innovation and passion for adventure products. Owner Jim Liggett’s passion began in 1982 when he operated his first zip line course. Just a few years later Jim started Ropes Courses, Inc. (RCI) and his love of ropes courses and zip line adventure products grew into a career and business that has been designing and manufacturing courses for companies worldwide since 1989.
The company, based in Allegan, Michigan, currently employs over 70 experts in design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and operation of ropes courses and zip line attractions. The company is constantly revolutionizing adventure products by testing new design concepts and technologies.
Over the years RCI has modernized the traditional tree-to-tree ropes course and cable zip lines with products such as the Sky Trail® and Sky Tykes® ropes courses and Sky Rail™ rigid zip lines. Our attractions suit a wide range of indoor and outdoor venues and accommodate various business models. RCI products are ideal for many industries such as amusement parks, zoos, family entertainment centers, museums, resorts and even cruise ships.
Our adventure attractions are engineered with patented integrated systems that maximize safety, minimize staff and increase participant age range and throughput capacities delivering unforgettable, engaging, in-the-air excitement to participants.
RCI adheres to the ASTM (previously the American Standards of Testing and Materials) standards for amusement devices. All engineering, design, installation, inspection, training, and operation are developed in conjunction with ASTM standards.
Specific standards are included but not limited to:
- Standard practice for ownership, operation, maintenance, and inspection of amusement rides and devices.
- Standard practice for special requirements for aerial adventure courses.
- Standard practice for design of amusement rides and devices.
As a company, we strive to meet customers’ needs by providing a safe product with the ability to manage high volumes of participants using minimal staff. We offer efficient and comprehensive training of course operators and operator trainers. RCI also provides services including design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, technical course inspections, equipment and the capability to theme courses.
